Background of the Study
Order management systems (OMS) are essential for ensuring that customer orders are processed efficiently and accurately. In the telecommunications sector, such systems help businesses like Airtel Nigeria streamline order processing, inventory management, and customer support (Oluwaseun & Okafor, 2023). Airtel Nigeria, one of the country’s leading mobile network providers, relies on sophisticated order management systems to handle the increasing volume of customer orders, service activations, and product deliveries, especially in Bauchi State.
In Bauchi State, Airtel faces challenges in managing customer orders efficiently, given the diverse nature of customer demands and the rapid growth of mobile services. Effective order management ensures timely delivery of services and products, reduces errors in billing, and enhances customer satisfaction. The efficiency of Airtel’s OMS directly impacts its operational costs, revenue generation, and customer loyalty. This study will appraise the effectiveness of Airtel Nigeria’s order management system in Bauchi State and its role in improving service delivery and operational performance.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the implementation of advanced order management systems, Airtel Nigeria faces challenges in managing customer orders effectively in Bauchi State. Issues such as order fulfillment delays, system errors, and insufficient integration with other customer service platforms may hinder the effectiveness of the OMS. These issues can lead to customer dissatisfaction, missed opportunities, and increased operational costs. Therefore, this study aims to assess the effectiveness of Airtel’s OMS in Bauchi State and identify key challenges that affect its performance.

1. To evaluate the effectiveness of Airtel Nigeria’s order management system in Bauchi State.

3. To recommend strategies for improving the efficiency of Airtel Nigeria’s order management system in Bauchi State.

Research Hypotheses
1. Airtel Nigeria’s order management system does not significantly improve the efficiency of order processing in Bauchi State.
2. Challenges in managing customer orders through the OMS do not significantly affect customer satisfaction at Airtel Nigeria, Bauchi State.
3. Strategies to improve the order management system do not significantly enhance operational performance at Airtel Nigeria in Bauchi State.
Scope and Limitations of the Study
This study will focus on assessing the order management system at Airtel Nigeria in Bauchi State, using data collected from customers and employees. Limitations include potential challenges in accessing internal system data and obtaining accurate feedback from customers.
